Indoor Sports Hall
One building for two groups of users
The indoor sports hall in Rosbach has made two user groups very happy: the local sports club, TGO, and the adjacent primary school, Kapersburg School. The children can enjoy sports in the spacious and functional sports hall during morning lessons and the adjoining rooms are used by the sports club throughout almost the whole day.
Both the sports club and town wanted a building that would optically merge into the school building and keep energy costs to a minimum. Astron and Partners were able to fulfill these requirements. By using natural daylight, ceiling lighting is hardly necessary. Solar panels, energy-efficient floor heating and excellent insulation contribute towards low energy costs and a sustainable and environmentally friendly use of the sport hall facilities. Apart from the big gym, there are changing rooms, showers and lavatories in the building. The rooms used by the sports club are on one side of the indoor sports hall and have a separate entrance.
