Industrial Construction in Croatia
New buildings for Knauf
Knauf is Europe’s second largest manufacturer of building materials such as plasterboards. In recent years, the company’s development in Eastern Europe has presented a major challenge; a challenge that has been met by the acquisition in Knin and the setting up of a modern plasterboards manufacturing plant.
Highly satisfied with a previous building in Poland, Knauf Gips KG again called on Astron’s services to construct the 7,500 m² production and storage facility. The industrial construction was erected by a Croatian team, trained on-site by Astron specialists, to the complete satisfaction of the client.
Knauf now joins Astron’s “key accounts” of companies, pursuing expansion and development strategies in the new markets of Eastern Europe.
Astron’s experience in very big industrial constructions, its know-how of local construction standards, its financial stability, as well as its production capacity were decisive factors.
The Knauf group opted for a variable height building, including several levels of mezzanines, to accommodate the specific needs of its industrial processes, such as the location of machinery and the flow of materials. The Astron roof system was built over an existing building to match the appearance of the LPA900 wall panels selected for the new facility.
