Temporary airport terminal
Saransk Airport is an international airport in Mordovia, Russia, located 7 km southeast of Saransk. It serves small airlines, but has undergone a major renovation in 2017 in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The runway was extended from 2,801 to 3,221 meters and reinforced with asphalt concrete. The airport is now able to receive such aircraft as Boeing 737 and Airbus A320.
The temporary international terminal was completed in one month only by Astron Builder СпецГрадСтрой, which increased the capacity to 600 passengers per hour, for the time of the 2018 World Cup.
Astron proved once again that the speed of construction is not a myth. “In the process of negotiations with the customer, the very short time frame for project implementation, along with the high quality of the structures, became one of the decisive factors in choosing Astron as the building supplier,” stated Pavel Pleshanov, Astron Sales Manager.
Astron built a similar terminal at Manchester Airport.
