Assembly phase for the 200-space multi-storey car park
The municipality of Sarrebourg (France) is building a parking facility near the train and bus stations, as part of a vast project to redevelop the Sarrebourg Multimodal Interchange Hub.
The aim of this project is to increase the parking capacity, to prioritize uses, to promote interconnection between the various modes of transport, to develop alternative transport modes and to enhance an important urban sector of the city.
The last phase of this project is the construction of a parking garage, which has just begun. This half-level parking lot is fully adapted to the existing topographical configuration and a compact right-of-way: each half-level is connected to the previous and following levels by short ramps (10 m), offering fluidity of movement, safety, and clear identification of the levels.
This 200-space multi-storey car park is located in an urban area with a high density of trees, bringing a green breath of fresh air to the neighborhood. For the façade, the city of Sarrebourg has chosen the option of a "green wall" for its environmental amenity.
The slanted lines composing the facades symbolize the branches of the trees. These are suspended above the trunks, represented by the structural posts visible on the ground floor, which lead the climbing elements upwards, emerging from the diversified linear flowerbed at the foot of the facade, to be found all along the sidewalks and the bus platform.
