Precision Tool Manufacturing in Astron buildings
DTS GmbH from Kaiserslautern, Germany, specializes in the development, manufacturing, and sale of precision tools with ultra-hard cutting materials and laser technology.
New Heights, New Spaces!
In response to their flourishing success, DTS decided to enlarge their operations with a brand-new Astron building. Managing Director Murat Yildirim emphasizes, "This isn't just a new building; it's a symbol of our growth, our dedication to quality, and our commitment to progress."
Building Highlights:
The 1,600 m² steel building comprises 1,000 m² of production and storage space and 600 m² of modern office facilities. An intermediate ceiling was installed to create more space for administration. The double-skin LPR roof has 260 mm thick insulation for optimal climate control.
DTS has not only prioritized efficient operations but also embraced sustainability. The office building has a warm roof structure, offering thermal insulation, soundproofing, and weather resistance. A photovoltaic system could be installed on top to contribute to a greener future.
The walls are clad horizontally with sandwich panels with a thickness of 140 mm, concealing any visible screws. The hall's distinctive "look" is enhanced by pilaster strips strategically placed at intervals, adding a touch of architectural elegance.
Successful Collaboration:
The construction projects were successfully completed by Astron's long-term Builder Wolf & Sofsky from Zweibrücken, Germany. David Reinhard, the site manager, comments: "As DTS continued to expand during the construction phase, we had to be flexible and spontaneous. But, together with the client, we mastered everything successfully”.
