REQUIREMENT
Logistics centre for temperature-controlled goods, spare parts and seasonal wheel logistics
Arthur Welter Logistics needed a high-performance warehouse solution to efficiently consolidate several business units at one location. The requirements included the safe storage of temperature-sensitive products, the organisation of large quantities of spare parts for an automotive brand and the seasonal storage and retrieval of wheels for over 20,000 vehicles. In addition, the building had to combine modern work areas, office space and clear logistics structures - while at the same time offering a high degree of flexibility for future uses.
The new distribution centre had to be designed for different temperature zones, ensure short distances and provide sufficient space for order picking, packaging and automated processes. The integration of different tenants and logistics processes placed further demands on the building geometry, structure and process organisation. The aim was to create a hall concept that ensures maximum food safety, economical storage processes and long-term scalability.
RESULT
Multifunctional 25,000 m² logistics centre with clear processes and certified safety
Astron realised a 25,000 m² distribution centre for Arthur Welter Logistics that combines three key business areas under one roof: temperature-controlled food logistics, an extensive spare parts warehouse for the automotive industry and the specialised "Logispneu" wheel logistics system. The hall structure enables efficient material flows, clear zones and short distances for daily logistics processes.
The areas are divided into several temperature and functional zones and offer optimum conditions for sensitive goods. Storage and order picking are supported by modern systems that reliably process large quantities. The infrastructure is resilient, modular and prepared for future expansion.
With its successful DIN ISO 22000 certification, the distribution centre meets the highest food safety requirements. The result: a flexible, high-performance logistics building that fulfils efficiency requirements as well as safety and quality standards and supports Arthur Welter's growth in the long term.
MORE ABOUT MODERN DISTRIBUTION AND STORAGE SOLUTIONS
The Welter distribution centre shows how various logistics processes can be efficiently bundled in one building. Temperature zones, flexible storage areas and clear material flows are key features of modern distribution centres.
Anyone planning a distribution centre or a multifunctional warehouse benefits from modular structures and energy-efficient system solutions. Further information can be found on our category page for warehouse & logistics halls.
