REQUIREMENT
Padel hall for modern sports concepts
Two indoor tennis and padel courts were to be built for the Vorarlberg Tennis Centre to meet the rapidly growing demand for facilities that can be used all year round. The requirement was for economical and flexible tennis and padel halls with large, column-free playing surfaces, short construction times and permanently low maintenance costs. The facility was to offer optimal conditions for both recreational and performance-orientated players.
In addition to the playing areas, supplementary uses such as recreation areas, a shop and catering facilities were also planned. Energy-efficient operation, a durable building envelope and a clear architectural structure formed the basis for sustainable and economical operation.
RESULT
Sports centre with fast implementation and high flexibility in usage
Astron realised two tennis and padel halls measuring 39 m x 56 m and 40 x 56 m. The column-free construction offers space for five padel courts and six tennis courts. A shop and restaurant as well as a darts area extend the utilisation concept and increase the attractiveness of the facility.
The prefabricated steel construction and an energy-efficient building envelope enable short construction times, clear cost structures and economical operation. At the same time, the building remains flexibly expandable and adaptable for future utilisation concepts. The result is a modern sports centre that convincingly combines functionality, design and cost-effectiveness.
BUILDING A PADEL HALL WITH SYSTEM
If you want to build a padel hall, you should not only consider the sporting and economic requirements, but also the building and authorisation requirements at an early stage. Padel halls are generally regarded as construction projects requiring authorisation. Complete construction documents are required for successful realisation, including site plans, building dimensions, hall heights, lighting concepts and information on use and development. Proper preparation speeds up the approval process and creates planning security.
A key aspect is coordination with local building regulations and municipal requirements. Depending on the location, noise protection, light emissions and utilisation times play a key role. Requirements for fire protection, escape routes and accessibility must also be taken into account. Integrating these points into the planning at an early stage avoids later adjustments and unnecessary delays.
Technically, padel halls require clear minimum standards. Sufficient hall heights, column-free playing surfaces and stable foundations and floor structures are crucial for high-quality play. At the same time, the building envelope, insulation and ventilation have a significant impact on operating costs and user comfort.
Astron realises padel halls using a system construction method that combines building law requirements, technical specifications and economical operation. Precise prefabrication, energy-efficient building envelopes and flexible hall concepts enable short construction times, clear cost structures and long-term security of use. The result is a padel hall that can be operated in a future-proof and sustainable manner and is eligible for planning permission.
