REQUIREMENT
Ice rink with energy-efficient technology and spectator comfort
The town of Žamberk was planning a modern ice rink that would fulfil the requirements of club and popular sports as well as public use. An economical solution with high energy efficiency, good ice quality and year-round usability was required. In addition to the playing surface, changing rooms, function rooms and a grandstand for spectators were to be integrated.
Key requirements were a sustainable energy concept, barrier-free access and a construction method that would enable low operating and maintenance costs in the long term. At the same time, the building had to be able to react flexibly to future uses or expansions.
RESULT
Sustainable ice rink with flexible utilisation
Astron realised a 3,000 m² ice rink with a grandstand for 180 seats. The steel supporting structure enables large spans without disruptive supports and creates optimal viewing conditions for athletes and spectators.
An integrated heat recovery system significantly reduces energy requirements and contributes to economical, sustainable operation. Spacious changing rooms, club facilities and modern technical zones ensure functional processes in day-to-day operations. The modular design allows for future extensions, such as additional side rooms or a larger ice rink.
The result is a durable, energy-efficient ice rink that impressively combines sporting requirements, cost-effectiveness and architectural quality.
BUILDING AN ICE RINK WITH EFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY
Anyone wanting to build an ice rink faces high technical requirements in terms of cooling, insulation and moisture management. An energy-efficient building envelope, high-performance building services and a robust supporting structure are crucial for cost-effective operation. Astron develops ice sports halls in system construction that are designed precisely to meet these requirements.
Large, column-free spans create optimum conditions for ice hockey, figure skating and public ice skating. Energy consumption and operating costs can be permanently reduced thanks to integrated heat recovery and precisely customised technology. At the same time, modular concepts allow flexible adaptation to future uses.
Astron realises ice rinks for local authorities and operators that combine sustainable technology, high user comfort and long-term cost-effectiveness.
