Climbing hall with maximum room height and safe use

The Red Rock Climbing Centre was to be a modern climbing hall that offers both recreational climbers and performance-oriented athletes optimum training conditions. The key requirements were large, column-free areas, an exceptional ceiling height for challenging routes and a safe and flexible design for the climbing and bouldering areas.

In addition to sporting use, the focus was on safety, clear visitor guidance and efficient space utilisation. The hall needed to be usable all year round, have low operating costs and be flexible enough to adapt to changing route layouts or future expansions.

RESULT

Climbing hall with high flexibility and economical construction

Astron realised a 560 m² climbing hall with a height of 16 metres and a column-free supporting structure. The centrepiece of the facility is the 450 m² climbing wall, complemented by a light-flooded bouldering hall. This construction method allows maximum freedom in the design of climbing and bouldering areas as well as the realisation of challenging route profiles.

The energy-efficient building envelope, durable materials and precise prefabrication ensure economical operation and low maintenance. The clear hall structure supports safe processes for users and operators. The result is a high-performance climbing hall that combines sporting requirements, safety and long-term cost-effectiveness.
