Central production site for increasing volume of goods

RAK Porcelain Europe, a leading manufacturer of porcelain for the hotel and catering industry, needed a multifunctional production and logistics hall at its Windhof site. The existing facility was working to capacity: increasing export volumes, growing product diversity and high handling frequencies led to bottlenecks in the warehouse and inefficient processes.

A building was required that intelligently combined several functional areas: large storage zones for over 11 million porcelain products per year, efficient shipping and picking areas, office space for administration and market organisation as well as a representative showroom for the European headquarters. Equally important were clear internal routes, short process times, flexible expansion options and a design that ensured low operating costs.

Astron realised a 5,500 m² production and logistics hall in which all European business processes are bundled. Different storage zones enable a clear separation of raw materials, finished products and dispatch areas. The internal logistics are organised along clear axes and ensure short distances between incoming goods, storage, order picking and loading.

The showroom and office space are directly integrated into the building complex. This creates a close link between sales, administration and logistics - an advantage for customer visits and internal processes. The modular steel construction creates room for future expansion and is flexible for possible capacity increases.

High-quality roof and wall systems reduce energy losses and support economical operation. The result is a functional, durable industrial building that efficiently combines logistics, presentation and organisation, and strengthens the site in the long term.
