REQUIREMENT
Retail building with flexible use
A new retail building was to be built for the specialist dealer REBO Motorgeräte, combining sales, storage and staff areas in a functional overall concept. The requirement was for a building with generous display areas, clear internal processes and sufficient space for individual product presentation. In addition to its use for sales, the hall was to remain flexible and expandable in order to be able to react to future requirements.
Key requirements were an economical construction method, short realisation time and an energy-efficient building envelope to reduce operating costs. At the same time, the architectural effect played an important role: the building had to support the brand identity and provide a modern shopping experience. In technical terms, a clear span of 24 metres and a robust, sustainable construction were required.
RESULT
Flexible retail building built on an industrial hall basis
Astron realised a retail building in Winsen an der Luhe with an area of 1,200 m² and a free span of 24 metres. The steel construction enables a flexible room layout without disruptive columns and offers optimum conditions for exhibition, storage and internal areas. Translucent roof and wall panels ensure a bright, pleasant atmosphere in the sales area.
Thanks to the modular system construction method, the project could be realised on schedule and cost-efficiently. Prefabricated building elements and an assembly-optimised design enabled rapid construction without welding work on site. The result is a functional, architecturally well-designed building that can be easily extended or adapted to new uses if required.
CONSTRUCTING RETAIL BUILDINGS - FLEXIBLE, ECONOMICAL, EXPANDABLE
Today, constructing a retail building means efficiently combining sales areas, warehouses and internal processes. Astron develops retail buildings based on modern industrial halls that enable flexible floor plans, large spans and short construction times. Steel as the main building material ensures high load-bearing capacity, durability and sustainable utilisation over the entire life cycle.
Thanks to modular construction, retail buildings can be adapted to growing space requirements or changing utilisation concepts. Energy-optimised building shells, low-maintenance materials and precise planning reduce operating costs in the long term. This results in retail buildings that are functionally convincing, have a clear architectural design and can be operated economically in the long term.
