REQUIREMENT

Steel structure for complex industrial processes

A new production site was to be built for Luxemburger Saatbau Genossenschaft (LSG), which would combine the storage, processing and distribution of seeds in one integrated building concept. The aim was to build a steel structure that could safely accommodate large volumes and at the same time integrate vertical processes such as drying, storage and packaging. A solution with high process reliability, clear material flows and flexible utilisation was required.

The structural requirements were extraordinary: 5,260 m² total area, construction heights of up to 45 m and the integration of silos 32 m high. This was not a classic hall, but a complex production site. The focus was on efficiency, load-bearing capacity and a sustainable overall concept in order to make the operation economical and future-proof in the long term.

RESULT

Heavy steel structure for high loads and heights

Astron realised a customised steel structure for LSG that is precisely tailored to the complex requirements of the production site. The project combines silos with a height of 32 metres with an adjoining process and storage hall including a 45-metre-high process tower. The load-bearing steel structure forms the backbone for a continuous material flow - from seed reception to final packaging.

The rectangular floor plan allows the silos to be arranged efficiently next to each other and optimises the use of space. Technical platforms, robust supporting structures and precisely manufactured steel components ensure stable processes even under high continuous loads. Supplemented by a harmonised energy concept, a long-lasting infrastructure with expansion potential and high process reliability was created.

BUILDING STEEL STRUCTURES - LOAD-BEARING STRUCTURES FOR COMPLEX INDUSTRIAL PLANTS

Building a steel structure means harmonising high load-bearing capacities, precise planning and the integration of complex processes. Astron develops steel structures for industrial plants that reliably support large heights, heavy loads and vertical process chains. Whether silos, process towers or technical platforms - the steel structure forms the basis for safe and efficient production processes.

Industrial production and modular design create steel structures that can be adapted to changing requirements and can be operated economically in the long term. Durable materials, clear design and harmonised energy concepts also contribute to sustainability. This results in load-bearing structures that reliably support complex industrial processes and are built to last.
