BUILDING MODERN HALLS,
INCREASING PRODUCTIVITY
Building a hall is more than just constructing a building - it is a strategic step that combines efficiency, growth and future-proofing. If you want to build a hall, you need a solution that is precisely tailored to your processes, space requirements and business objectives. Whether warehouses, production halls, industrial halls, sports halls or data centres: modern hall construction creates space for development, optimises processes and reduces operating costs in the long term.
Astron has been one of the leading providers of hall construction in Europe for over 60 years. With more than 58,000 realised projects, our customers benefit from our experience, precise planning and short construction times. Our hall construction solutions combine cost-effective construction, architectural freedom and sustainable quality - and remain adaptable in the future thanks to flexible expansion options.

TYPICAL HALL CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
Initial idea and advice
There are many questions at the beginning of a hall construction project: How big should the hall be? What is the intended use? What are your work processes? We work with you to clarify these points and develop initial concepts. In doing so, we not only take into account your current requirements, but also possible future developments. Shortly afterwards, you will receive concrete proposals, which often include aspects that were not even considered at the outset.
Planning with digital tools
In the planning phase of hall construction, we rely on modern software such as CYPRION or innovative BIM solutions. These tools can be used to simulate different variants of your building - from 2D and 3D views to daylight utilisation and energy balance. Transport logistics and installation costs are also calculated realistically. This gives you a clear picture of your building and allows you to make decisions at an early stage. A major advantage: you get reliable cost and schedule certainty right from the start.
Production and prefabrication
As soon as the concept is finalised, the production of all components begins in our factories. This is where customised steel frames for the supporting structure, roof and wall systems, insulation and all accessories such as gates, doors, windows and crane runways are produced. This high degree of prefabrication ensures that the elements no longer need to be customised on the construction site. For you, this means maximum precision, fewer sources of error and a significantly shorter construction time.
Assembly on the construction site
Delivery is just-in-time, sorted and labelled so that the process on the construction site runs smoothly. Depending on the size of the project, up to 10,000 m² of hall construction can be realised in just four weeks. As the components are precisely prefabricated, they only need to be screwed together - there is no need for welding or weather-dependent processes. This means that even large construction projects can be planned, regardless of the time of year and weather conditions.
Handover and utilisation
After the final assembly of the hall construction, the interior work is carried out - if you wish. You are welcome to receive your turnkey building, even with outdoor facilities if you wish. Thanks to clear structures and end-to-end project management, you won't experience any nasty surprises - neither in terms of cost nor schedule. The building is designed from the outset so that it can be operated economically and can be extended or adapted as required.
How much will the hall construction cost?
The costs depend on the size, utilisation, equipment and location. We will provide you with a transparent calculation based on your individual requirements. But! The investment costs only account for around 20-30% of the total costs over the life of a building. The running costs for energy, maintenance and operation are decisive.
That is why we plan your new hall construction in such a way that it enables permanently low operating costs. Intelligent insulation, modern building technology and optimised construction methods will save you energy and maintenance costs in the long term. This makes your investment more economical - for decades to come.

Your hall construction questions? Already answered ...
Hall construction depends on the right combination of planning, prefabrication and assembly. Thanks to the Astron system construction concept, halls can be realised in an astonishingly short time. While conventional construction methods often take many months or even years, an Astron hall is usually completed in just a few months. Astron helps you to realise your ideas - within a fixed time frame and a fixed budget. This is achieved particularly quickly thanks to the system approach, automated production and prefabricated, perfectly harmonised products.
As a rule, your building is completely planned and produced in just 10 to 14 weeks. Assembly is carried out by certified fitters within a few weeks, and the interior work is also completed quickly. A sample calculation shows the advantage: 14 weeks planning & production + 8 weeks assembly + 8 weeks completion = around half a year.
The result: a fast construction process, predictable commissioning and therefore a rapid return on investment. For building owners, this means short realisation times, reliable deadlines and rapid use of the new hall.
When it comes to building halls, building owners generally have a variety of construction methods at their disposal. Astron relies on steel halls in system construction, which impress with their versatility and cost-effectiveness. This solution is the right choice for anyone looking for speed, flexibility and cost efficiency in warehouse construction. Steel buildings can be customised precisely to your requirements, offer a short construction time and can even be completely dismantled and reassembled at another location if required. This allows you to remain flexible in the long term and adapt your building to new operational requirements at any time.
Concrete halls only come into their own in a few special cases - for example, when there are particularly high requirements for fire protection or sound insulation. However, they are permanently tied to one location and are significantly less adaptable.
In a direct comparison, the steel hall impresses with its short construction time, versatility and sustainable cost-effectiveness. For most construction projects - whether warehouse, production hall or sports hall - it is the future-proof solution. Astron combines robust steel structures with roof and wall systems and optionally with concrete or timber elements to realise the optimum construction method for every project.
With an Astron hall, you remain flexible at all times. Even at the planning stage, we take into account the fact that your company may grow or your processes may change. This gives you a building that not only fits today, but can also be adapted to your requirements in the future.
If you need additional space for storage, production or offices, your hall can be extended quickly and easily. Thanks to the modular design, extensions, larger areas or new functions such as crane runways, cooling zones or additional doors can be easily integrated.
In contrast to solid construction methods, Astron steel buildings are not rigidly limited to one location or fixed use. You benefit from a solution that adapts to your company - instead of the other way round. This gives you the flexibility you need, avoids expensive new buildings and at the same time increases the value of your investment in hall construction.
At Astron, your economic efficiency takes centre stage. That's why we develop halls that are not only functional, but also guarantee you permanently low operating costs. Thanks to modern insulation, innovative roof and wall systems and sophisticated daylight concepts, you can noticeably reduce your energy consumption for heating, cooling and lighting.
We use digital tools to simulate the energy performance of your hall as early as the planning phase. This allows you to see exactly which measures will save costs in the long term - such as the use of more insulation or the integration of photovoltaics. You decide which concept offers the greatest benefit for your situation.
The result: your building remains economical to operate even after many years, fulfils current sustainability standards and at the same time increases the value of your investment. With Astron-Hallenbau, you combine energy efficiency with planning security and make your company fit for the future.
To build a hall in Germany, you generally need a building permit, which is issued on the basis of a detailed building application. This includes construction drawings, structural analyses, fire protection concepts, proof of energy efficiency and information on the use, location and size of the building. Depending on the planned use, there may be additional requirements, for example regarding noise protection, occupational safety or the handling of hazardous substances.
It is important that all documents are submitted completely and correctly in order to avoid delays in the approval process. This is precisely where Astron can support you together with your local partner: We prepare the necessary verifications and provide all structural calculations. This saves you time and minimises the risk of additional claims.
For you, this means that you receive all approval documents from a single source and can be sure that your hall construction project is prepared in a legally sound and efficient manner.
