Tennis Center in Almaty
The Tennis Federation of Kazakhstan is currently developing the sports infrastructure of the country.
Within this program, Astron has constructed a tennis complex with an area of 4,300 m² in Almaty and is finishing another one (7,200m²) in Karaganda. The building is comprised of the main block with 4 tennis courts and a two-story administrative part which includes offices, gyms and auxiliary facilities.
The structure is based on Astron AZM1 frame with a 41 m free span. Since the complex was built in a seismic region (9 points), additional measures were taken to stabilize the structure: H-beams were welded from both sides; end-wall frames and supporting columns were installed separately and fastened by pin connections. the wall system was mounted on supporting columns, ensuring that the end walls work separately from the building. A combination of LPR1000 and LMR600 systems with 120 mm Astrotherm insulation was applied on the roof. 48 translucent roofing panels above the courts ensure optimal use of natural light.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Worth ning os that this is the only tennis center in Almaty that can host the ATP Challenger Tour.
