Royal Visit at the Chamber of Commerce
At the occasion of their state visit in Luxembourg, the King and Queen of The Netherlands attended the "Luxembourg-Netherlands Economic Forum", organized at the Chamber of Commerce.
This event, which was organized under the motto “Luxembourg and The Netherlands: Partners in Sustainable and Circular Economy”, addressed the strategy of Luxembourg and The Netherlands in the field of circular economy and presented the strategic midterm targets, the progress, the good practices as well as many actors in the two countries.
Astron was invited to the event to exhibit our new demountable solution for car parks, which is designed for circularity. In fact, a circular economy building solution is a very attractive economic and ecologic alternative. Astron has developed and already started marketing today its dismountable car parks made of steel. The structure is suitable for several life cycles by re-use or functional changes. The steel material is up-cyclable at the end. The Astron solution implies a complete demountability of the structure and slab elements without damages to preserve the value of the elements. In a circular approach, the customer no longer buys the building but only rents parking spaces based on the “product as a service” business model. The elements and materials remain the property of the fabricator or the investor over several life cycles.
As a consequence of the circular approach, the environmental impact and in particular the carbon footprint as well as the usage of natural resources are considerably reduced. The economic gain potential is very interesting for long-term investments. For example, a car park can be disassembled and reassembled in another location, at a fraction of the original cost, and give way for a new building project or other usage of the ground.
