Green car park for the school campus
With the construction of the new Bertha-Benz School, a modern educational campus has been created in Sigmaringen that sets new standards in both architecture and functionality. In this context, Astron Mobility realised the new car park with a floor area of 2,900 m² and 290 parking spaces in a split-level design. It complements the school’s circular main building and ensures smooth access throughout the entire site.
“The new Bertha-Benz School is a flagship project for vocational education in the region,” emphasized District Administrator Stefanie Bürkle during the inauguration. The new building brings together all previously scattered departments from five locations and will accommodate around 1,350 students in the future. The car park integrates seamlessly into the architectural concept and provides essential infrastructure for teachers, visitors, and trainees.
Sustainability also played a key role: the roof of the car park was greened to retain rainwater, lower the surrounding temperature, and create habitats for insects. The entire campus is designed to meet the DGNB Platinum Standard, using recycled concrete and energy-efficient building technology. With its clean steel structure, short construction time, and efficient use of space, the Astron Mobility car park exemplifies modern, functional, and sustainable building infrastructure.
