A Gold Mine for Astron
Lydian International is a gold developer that is focusing on a new gold mine in Armenia.
The Amulsar gold project is located 170 km south of Armenia's capital Yerevan on the border between the provinces (Marz) of Vayots Dzor and Sunnik, an area known for extremely high seismic activity (9 points). Lydian International contracted Astron for the delivery of three buildings with a total area of 2,800 m².
The project is definitely complex due to the high seismic load and the complicated technical requirements: three buildings are almost 30 meters high each and must be equipped with different cranes: 20, 25 and 45 tons! Although the buildings look like green boxes, they are protecting high-tech equipment inside!
Amulsar will be Armenia’s largest gold mine, with estimated mineral resources containing 3.5 million measured and indicated gold ounces and 1.3 million inferred gold ounces. Gold production is targeted to average approximately 225,000 ounces annually over an initial 10-year mine life. Gold production is expected to begin mid 2018.
