Two-wheeler paradise made of steel
The two-wheeler dealer OK MOTO in Bad Kreuznach, Germany, has been selling motorcycles since 1994 and e-bikes (OK MOVE) since 2010, also offering maintenance, service, and repairs. New premises were needed. Therefore, the company commissioned a steel hall of about 2,000 m2 (64 x 30 x 7m), which combines sales, warehouse, and workshop under one roof.
The sales area is placed in the center of the building and covers an area of 250 m2. To the right and left of it, false ceilings were inserted to create additional space for storage, the workshop, and offices. The LMR600 roof system in double-skin design with 200 mm insulation provides optimal thermal protection. The building airtightness was verified with a so-called blower door test as proof for the KfW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau). The steel hall has proved to be extremely airtight and meets low-energy standards. A photovoltaic system was installed on the roof.
The hall concept was developed by the construction company Johann Bott GmbH, a long-standing Astron Builder, together with the customer OK MOTO. The focus was on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness with regards to steel construction and interior fittings.
