Platinum Arena
25,000 m² Sports Complex for the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk
We already have presented this project during the assembly phase, look at how Platinum Arena Krasnoyarsk has grown!
Magnum, the leader in the Russian market of sports construction as well as an Astron authorized Builder, was selected as a general contractor for design and construction of a multifunctional sports complex with an ice arena for up to 7,000 spectators.
The company has already realized about 600 different sports projects, including Olympic facilities in Sochi. Russian Platinum Company initiated the project as part of Krasnoyarsk preparations for Universiade 2019.
The 25,000 m² sports complex provides meeting rooms, a press center, a medical unit, judicial and coaching blocks, rooms for official delegations, restaurants and cafes, changing rooms for athletes, fitness halls and other administrative and technical facilities.
The architectural solution of the building helps to organize traffic inside the building and avoid crowds. Particular attention is paid to ensuring comfortable conditions for people with limited mobility.
The 2019 Winter Universiade will be an international student and youth competition, which is scheduled to take place from 2–12 March 2019. This is the first time this event will take place in Russia. The Krasnoyarsk 2019 Winter Universiade flame was lit at a special ceremony last September as cities and universities around the world prepare to celebrate the International Day of University Sport. Once the flame lit, the relay will pass through 30 Russian cities including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Grozny and Vladivostock, before it arrives in Krasnoyarsk on March 1, the day before the Winter Universiade Opening Ceremony.
