Kojetín ice rink: a multifunctional sports arena
The town of Kojetín in the Czech Republic is preparing to open a new multifunctional sports arena that will bring a new level of sports opportunity to the region. Built using Astron steel building solutions, the Kojetín Ice Rink combines architectural efficiency with high adaptability, a key characteristic of Astron’s approach.
From winter ice rink to summer sport
The ice rink operate from the beginning of November to the end of March. During the warmer months, the ice surface is replaced with a special artificial floor called Stilmat, suitable for floorball, mini soccer, volleyball, and inline skating. This adaptable design makes this sports facility a four-season multi-sports venue and maximizes public use.
Kojetín Mayor Leoš Ptáček highlights the facility’s versatility:
Under the ice will be an artificial surface suitable for all sports played with sneakers, such as floorball, mini soccer, volleyball, and others. The space can also be used for inline skating.
A flexible sports facility
The project represents a public investment of almost CZK 100 million, underlining Kojetín’s commitment to developing quality infrastructure for its residents. “Due to its proximity to a residential area, we do not plan to use the facility for concerts or similar events, only for sports,” noted Ptáček.
Inside the arena, visitors will find changing rooms, restrooms, a skate rental service, space for a snow groomer, and a reception area with refreshments and seating, creating a complete user experience for both athletes and recreational visitors.
With all services provided from a single source, Astron offers a complete package: consulting, engineering, manufacturing, and, if required, turnkey construction. Whether for a tennis hall, an ice rink, or a multifunctional arena, Astron solutions combine durability, efficiency, and architectural freedom.
