Investment for the Future
Novocal, a leading manufacturer of mobile functional furniture for the healthcare sector in Cloppenburg, Germany, has recently made a significant investment in the future of the company. In 2020, faced with limited expansion opportunities at its previous location in Ostrhauderfehn, Novocal made the strategic decision to relocate to Saterland (OT Strücklingen) and entrusted LH Lübbe Hallen-Systeme GmbH, a longstanding Astron Builder partner, with the design and construction of both the production and storage hall and the administration building.
With a total investment of 5 million Euros, Novocal has constructed state-of-the-art facilities with the Astron building system on a spacious 4-hectare site, ensuring continued competitiveness and growth. The new premises include a 10,000 m2 steel hall dedicated to production and warehousing, as well as a modern 1,000 m2 administration building on two floors (25 x 25 m). The complex also features parking spaces for 60 cars and 8 trucks.
The new building offer numerous advantages for Novocal's operations. The steel hall has a span of 95 m, supported by four rows of central pillars. This design enables enhanced efficiency and flexibility for company processes. Moreover, the additional loading ramps greatly facilitate the loading and unloading operations, which improves productivity.
The roof is a LPR1000 roof system, featuring 120 mm insulation. The building walls are clad with the LPA900 Astron wall system, incorporating PA panels with 100 mm insulation and an interior perforated sheet metal to ensure optimal acoustic conditions.
One feature of the production and storage hall is the crane that runs crosswise up up to the eaves. Additionally, the building is equipped with four dock levellers, a 7.4 m wide door into the crane hall, and 20 light bands, some of which are in special sizes. These features enhance the functionality and convenience of the facilities, streamlining Novocal's day-to-day operations.
