We have successfully delivered a new 4,000 m² facility in Łódź for PORR, one of Poland’s leading general contractors. The plant will produce the prefabricated concrete segments needed for the high-speed railway tunnel, a landmark project in Poland that is also a vital link in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) North Sea–Baltic corridor. Once completed, the two-way Łódź tunnel will stretch roughly 4.6 km with a 14-meter diameter, allowing trains to travel in both directions at speeds up to 160 km/h.
Astron role in this project went beyond simply supplying a structure. We handed over a turnkey building to PORR, taking complete responsibility for logistics and seamless solutions integration.
Our scope of work covered the main structure with crane rail beams for three overhead cranes. We also installed custom wall and roof systems, industrial doors, and gates. To make the facility fully operational from day one, we fitted comprehensive internal access and safety infrastructure, including fall protection systems, roof ladders, railings and stairs leading up to the mezzanine.
Construction started this January. For general contractors like PORR, time is the ultimate currency. Despite launching the critical initial phases under severe winter conditions, our team kept the project moving at full speed. By wrapping up construction by mid-May, Astron proved once again that our clients and partners can rely on Astron planning, precision and fixed time frame.
