In April, Astron places the spotlight on a padel hall: the “Astron Building of the Month April” is a new development at the sports complex of the Vorarlberger Tenniszentrum in Götzis, Austria – responding directly to the ongoing boom of the trend sport padel.
Padel is one of the fastest-growing indoor sports in Europe. As a result, modern facilities must meet high expectations: year-round usability, efficient use of space, economic operation and future flexibility. In Götzis, a column-free hall of 40 x 56 m was created, accommodating five padel and two tennis courts. Right next to it stands an Astron tennis hall with four tennis courts, measuring 39 x 56 m. Generous playing areas, clear sightlines and optimal interior heights provide professional conditions for both recreational and competitive players.
The prefabricated steel structure enabled short construction time and clear cost control. Technically, the building features a double-skin LPR roof, Polar sandwich panels with 100 mm insulation and rooflight strips that bring ample daylight into the interior. Ridge ventilators support a balanced indoor climate. In addition, solar panels were installed on the roof to sustainably reduce energy demand.
With this new padel hall, the Vorarlberger Tenniszentrum positions itself early in a growing market and creates a financially sustainable infrastructure for a sport whose momentum continues to increase.
