Together with the general contractor M&J Modern Construction, Astron delivered a new production and technology steel building in Jelcz-Laskowice for Instytut Mechaniki Sp. z o.o.. The steel building was specifically engineered to support high-precision manufacturing processes and demanding load requirements.
With approximately 6,000 m² of production aera, the new facility significantly expands the company’s capabilities in welded steel structures and heavy mechanical machining. The steel structure was carefully designed around the future production and logistics processes, ensuring efficient operational performance and long-term flexibility.
A key focus of the project was the integration of overhead crane systems. In total, 20 cranes were installed into the building, including six units with an 8-ton lifting capacity and fourteen units rated at 5 tons. Factory-integrated crane runway girders enabled precise structural design for dynamic loads and intensive industrial use, while ensuring optimal reliability and operational safety.
The new production hall combines manufacturing areas, welding zones, office space and employee facilities within one coherent industrial concept. Optimized material flows and a robust steel structure support efficient day-to-day operations and streamlined production processes. The facility will be used for the manufacturing of components and steel structures for the railway, mechanical engineering and energy sectors.
This project demonstrates how modern steel construction can deliver industrial facilities with high levels of precision, efficiency and cost control - especially for production buildings integrating crane systems and complex process requirements. For general contractors, prefabricated steel buildings provide clear advantages in terms of planning reliability, construction quality and project delivery certainty.
