The inaugural winner! First winner of the recently introduced ASTRON "Multi-Story Building of the Quarter" contest is French Builder C.I.R.. Featuring an elegant combination of glass and brick walls, the building was constructed for the real estate company SCI Sadimo in Reims (France). SCI Sadimo manages the Farman business park, offering rental packages to companies that wish to establish there. Most buildings have been constructed, mainly on a turnkey basis, by ASTRON Builder C.I.R. This company’s know-how, as well as the advantages of the ASTRON approach, convinced Sadimo to set-up a partnership with C.I.R.Rapid completion was one of the key elements for ASTRON’s success; the building elements are prefabricated and "wet-work" on site is virtually eliminated, making erection quick and easy despite outside temperatures of below zero in January. The MSB process saves time and avoids the use of heavy and expensive materials; primary and secondary framing, the roof and the hollow core concrete wall slabs were erected in only 4 weeks by company C.L.M. de Seilhac. The use of ASTRON’s special Inodek beams reduced the building height to within the limits prescribed by the authorities. It also helped to respect the proportions of the building desired by the customer and his architect.A well developed combination of simple functional elements, together with excellent aesthetics, was enough to give the award to this building which is rented to companies such as Sanef, Goodyear, Ciat, Ecclor. SCI Sadimo, highly satisfied, has already placed another order for a similar building and a third one is planned for next spring.
