Astron defeats challenges in Africa – Part 4Albeit the constraining factors and challenging conditions this Astron Key Account steel construction in East Africa was great achievement. In Djibouti, East Africa a highly unusual building due to its 56 % sloped roof was build as a grain storage for the client Vigan, an international company manufacturing handling, unloading and complete storage systems for bulk materials. Additionally, the 5904 m² building had to withstand heavily suspended conveyor belts in the ceiling. Due to the roof slope which was too steep for builders to stand on, and heavy temperatures of 40 – 55 oC, erection sequence had to be carried out accordingly. |
