ASTRON defeats challenges in Africa – Part 3Albeit the constraining factors and challenging conditions, this ACI project in West Africa was great achievement. The brewery built in the remote Kissidougou region of Guinea for the client Sobragui S.A is a further highly interesting project. ASTRON was able to build a technical structure of 6000 m² according to both French and local norms. The brewery required infrequent aspects such as storage cellars with temperature regulation, complex ventilation accessories and oversized gutters and downspouts to withstand precipitation. Transportation to Kissidougou was critical and a crane needed to be transported 500 km on barely existing mud tracks, a real challenge in the rain forest. Since the ASTRON participation was only one part of a total investment, there was no room for error or delay. Expectations were, however, met and a second brewery building has now been delivered to the capital, Conakry for the same client. |
