ASTRON defeats challenges in Africa – Part 2Albeit the constraining factors and challenging conditions, this project in West Africa was great achievement. However, whilst ASTRON ACI has already built numerous buildings in North Africa, buildings in Western Africa are rarer. BIA, a company selling and performing maintenance on heavy machinery, however, recently opened their second ASTRON reparations building in Dakar, Senegal this time with an office complex joined to it. The building has multiple windows; two different shades of grey Sinutec-Sinutherm panels, both vertical and horizontal; a parapet; and a canopy. High temperatures made work strenuous but the greater challenge was the periodically heavy rainfall, meaning it could take hours purely to reach the work site on the water-covered mud tracks. Nevertheless, the General Subcontractor C.S.L. was most professional and the ease with which the different ASTRON steel pieces can be connected astonished them. |
