ASTRON - European news - 30 April 2007
Autoliv opens up in RomaniaAutoliv, reputed to be the world leader in vehicle security systems, just opened its first production center in Brasov, Romania, for the manufacture of seat belts. The Swedish group is partner to most, if not all, of the most important carmakers in the world. This new plant is part of the group’s strategy to respond to the specific demands of the automobile industry by producing its products close to its clients. ASTRON's experience in the construction of large-scale industrial complexes, its know-how to design according to local norms and regulations, its financial stability and its considerable production capacity convinced this customer to choose ASTRON. The 17.590 m² complex is composed of 4 ASTRON buildings: a 92 m long warehouse with a 48 m span, two production areas, as well as a building for offices. Romanian Builder Romdecor carried out the erection. Autoliv has further expansion plans within Romania and, being entirely satisfied with the services of ASTRON and its Builder Romdecor, it has awarded an additional contract to ASTRON to construct a new airbag production centre called Livbag. The order for this new factory is a sign of confidence in the expertise of ASTRON, a company that fully met the quality, reliability and shipping requirements of the Swedish manufacturer. |
