ASTRON - European news - 05 April 2005
Imaginative new premises from an ASTRONET conceptSchnebelt bring together two companies specialized in the wood cutting equipment and services; Schnebelt Präzision, whose speciality is industrial tools and Rolf Schnebelt, active in the distribution of new and second-hand machines. To support a marketing strategy based on improved customer service, the companies wanted new premises that would be more representative of their services. They therefore decided to build a common facility at Schutterwald’s (Germany) commercial area. Builder Zimmerman designed and built the spacious 3.000 m2 project that includes a showroom and a storage area as well as the headquarters of the two companies. Two 21 m span ASTRONET buildings were placed side-by-side and linked visually by a parapet. Large amounts of glazing in the facades have resulted in a building that is surprisingly light and airy. The main internal architectural feature is a large and slightly curved staircase. Attention to detail throughout the project as well as an attractive corner entrance have combined to create just the right kind of distinguished, welcoming atmosphere. The Ivory (01) colour of the double skin roof and the snow-white (50) PR walls are complemented by Gentian blue (14) gutters, downspouts and window flashings. |
