CVR Storen CenterIn order to expand its activities via a new sales and distribution center, CVR Storen Center, a specialist in the sale and installation of canopy and other similar anti-sun systems, looked for new premises. Having evaluated the possibility to build a completely new shop, the company chose instead to purchase an old building situated right in the center of Luxembourg city’s business park and to fix it up. ASTRON’s renovation system allowed the customer to transform the old building into a modern and architecturally pleasing distribution center. Furthermore, in this instance, this option was much faster and much more economical than the construction of a completely new building. The old building got a totally new face: refurbishment inside and outside, plus the installation of a mezzanine to provide additional space for offices, not only for use by CVR Storen Center but also by other independent tenants. The sober yet modern design that has been created includes using the building’s primary framing as part of the building’s new "look". The roof was left as it was; ASTRON Builder MBS simply added some continuous curved skylights in order to get a maximum of light into the product display area. A new entrance was added. In addition, Z profiles were attached to the existing framing to create a sub-structure for horizontal ASTRON PI panels. These panels, characterized by a flat profile and trapezoid grooves, provide an attractive finish and confer a pleasant look to the building. Overall, the building’s aesthetics are much improved by the combination of wood, concrete and steel. "I am very proud of this project. The renovation has greatly increased the value of the building. It is unrecognizable from what it was! In addition, the working areas are ergonomically efficient and are very nice and airy. The ASTRON renovation system also saved us precious time" declared Mrs. Von Roesgen, of CVR Storen Center. |
