ASTRON - European news - 08 November 2004
Parker HannifinThe Parker Hannifin Group, a world leader in diversified technology and hydraulic equipment as well as being ASTRON’s parent company needed new facilities in Wroc³aw (Poland)…and quickly! So, for the 6th time in 2 years, Parker turned to ASTRON to satisfy its demands. The complex consists of two multi-story buildings, the first offering office space, the second social rooms and a canteen, with an intervening ASTRON single-story production building providing some 9.747 m² of manufacturing space. The project presented a real challenge; it had to be completed, on a turnkey basis, within 5 months, and this during the severe Polish winter period. It was decided to erect the roofs – all double-skin designs – in two stages: the inner roofs during the winter, thus weather-proofing the buildings, while the insulation and external panels were erected later in springtime. Thanks to the ASTRON technique and the MSB building system approach of using a steel structure combined with pre-stressed, hollow-core concrete elements, construction continued throughout the harsh winter (- 20°C). The office building with its curtain walls and curved facades, combined with concrete architectural elements, is attractive and offers a light and airy interior. Luminosity, meticulous finishing and the choice of colours, reflects perfectly the image of the customer; modern, dynamic and, above all, devoted to quality. The ASTRON solution is economical yet highly attractive. The customer has declared that he has one of the most beautiful premises of the 140 buildings of the Parker Hannifin Group! |
