"Strike" for Builder NV Bouwteam Van de WalleGeneral contractor NV Bouwteam Van de Walle has always shown a willingness to forge ahead and broaden the scope of its activities. Recently, this Belgian general contractor recognized the new commercial opportunities presented by the ASTRON system and took the decision to join the ASTRON Builder Network. The decision rapidly paid off! The company’s commitment and motivation quickly led to an order for the Valcke Bowling group, which specializes in the turnkey construction of tenpin bowling facilities in Belgium and France. The construction of the 3.817 m² building presented certain technical challenges to the new Builder! Firstly, it was to be built on an inclined site. Additionally, the design called for a curved roof, achieved by the use of polygonal frames with regularly spaced Z purlins. Despite this, the 55.8 m clear span building was completed in only 16 weeks, quicker than the access roads to the site! The new bowling center, located in Saint Maximin near Paris (France), has 28 lanes, a cafeteria and a restaurant, all housed in a highly sophisticated building with striking architecture. Speed of erection, complete flexibility of the internal layout and a modern outlook have been brought together in this first ASTRON building by NV Bouwteam Van de Walle. It will certainly not be the last! |
