Auto exhibition area beats deadline for "Festival de l’automobile"

To further develop its sales of second-hand cars, and being short of display space, the Mercedes garage in Diekirch (Luxembourg) decided to construct a temporary exhibition area. Situated directly on a busy main road, this new "showroom" is adjacent to its existing premises. It is also immediately alongside the headquarters and manufacturing plant of ASTRON! Thus, how not to call upon ASTRON !

It was an interesting challenge: To create and erect a canopy that would be functional yet reflect the luxury and quality consistent with the Mercedes corporate image. The "bird wings" of the canopy create a soaring and welcoming appearance, reinforced by the inclination of the columns. In fact, the entire form has an artistic similarity to the shock absorber of a car! Although largely open, the wall cladding consists of uninsulated EUROTEC panels to which SINUTEC panels are fixed horizontally as inside cladding. No secondary structure was needed as the SINUTEC panels were fixed directly on the internal ribs of the EUROTEC panels. The freedom of movement between the cars on display, the colours, the lighting, the high quality finishes as well as the attractive architecture, has created a dynamic and elegant atmosphere. It took only three and a half weeks for the erection team of ASTRON Builder MBS to erect this very special building. To the great satisfaction of the Garage Jean Wagner, its new "showroom" was inaugurated one month before the "Festival de l’automobile" in Luxembourg, a critical period for the sale of second-hand cars.
