ASTRON STEEL STRUCTURE IN BELARUS: STEEL STRUCTURE OF THE MONTH IN BELARUS
New supermarket in Brest (Belarus)The largest hypermarket in Brest is realized with the Astron technology. The first hypermarket, the Korona - the largest commercial center in the region was opened on December 10, 2009 in Brest, Belarus. Design and manufacturing of the building was carried out by Lindab-Astron. The total area of the hypermarket is 22.000 m2, including a 8.500 m2 supermarket offering about 75.000 different brands, food and non-food. The entire complex incorporates two restaurants as well, a bakery with confectionery shop, and a meat shop. There are offices and other premises on the first floor, as well as a number of boutiques that are located here. The parking lot adjacent to the building has been designed for 500 cars. By summer 2010 1.200 persons will be employed in the Brest "Crown". The hypermarket is on the main street of a city, the Moscow street. Eye-catching is the vivid colour and the architecture of the facade. The project is realized by Tobacco-invest from Minsk, a company that owns ten regional shopping centers, including a Crown in the Belarus capital. The investor decided for Astron due to the best price/quality ratio and due to the excellent delivery terms. Official Astron Builder, A-Modulstroy from Minsk took well care of the erection and installation. The turn-key project was finalized in 14 months. The project of the given shopping center is considered as a standard one for repetitive
applications in Belarus. At present, Company Tobacco-invest conducts negotiations for two exactly
the same shopping centers with the Astron technology, having a total area of 34 000 m2. In
Bobruisk, the building should come by the end of March, and the one in Vitebsk in December 2010.
