ASTRON STEEL CONSTRUCTION IN BELGIUM: STEEL CONSTRUCTION OF THE MONTH IN BELGIUM

Thanks to these prestigious new premises located in Lier (Belgium), the 80 employees who work for the company now enjoy a more spacious and functional environment. A new Astron steel building was an essential element in the development of the company Varo, one of Europe's leading companies in design, production and worldwide distribution of hand tools, power tools and garden equipment.

Astron Builder Noesen Industriebouw’s well thought-out proposal which was supplied on a turnkey basis, plus the very rapid erection of Astron’s building system met the Belgium client’s requirements.  Noesen Industriebouw’s efficient service and high-quality products at the right price, has already led to a further two steel buildings for the same client as well as the architect who won the tender entering a "design and build" competition involving many international companies.

The steel building consists of a 3,500m² office building and a 22,000m² storage building with a height of 13.6m.  The warehouse was designed to accommodate the 12m high storage rack for stacking 6 pallets one above the other.  Order requirements and logistics are centralised mainly in Lier and some 20,000 pallets are kept permanently in stock to provide the required flexibility, continuous availability and speedy deliveries to clients in Belgium and abroad.  Every day the 18 docks receive dozens of containers filled with DIY tools, garden equipment, etc ... To be unloaded, stored and then distributed throughout Europe.  An impressive ballet of forklifts!

The customer was extremely satisfied with this achievement, especially with the elegant aesthetics, high quality finish as well as the high performance of the Astron roof insulation.
