Astron- leisure building – Poland – Steel Construction ice rink – Poland
ASTRON on IceArchitect Piotr Paldyna has designed this 5,400m² sports hall with a lot of love for details: the colourful mix of forms and building materials give no rise to boredom. Elements that were necessary for statics have quite often been integrated as architectural elements in a very clever way. As one of many examples: the entrance area has been recessed while the continued beam of the primary structure is breaking through the wall panels, thus turning the usual roof into a canopy. Curves and round shapes are disrupting the straight steel lines every now and then. Thus a wavy form for instance keeps coming up here and there, like in the small canopy of a side entrance, or in the blue cladding of an exterior wall. The technical data of this building: An AZM1 with partial mezzanine, a length of 89 m, a span of 52 m and a roof slope of 10%. Panels are DSR with 200 mm insulation for the roof and PA with 100 mm for the walls. |
