Another ASTRON record - the largest free span ever built in Italy. 63m!Nomen est Omen: Buonumore, the Italian word for ‘good mood’, is the most important exporter of salads (radicchio) for the international market. Located in the region of Rovigo in the Po valley, the company takes great pride in providing its employees with serene and efficient working conditions, including healthy foods, in the excellent environment of its customized ASTRON building. This new edifice enabled Buonumore to increase its production destinated for the wholesale sector. Edil & Acciaio an Italian ASTRON Builder from Milan since 2002, participates regularly in different fairs throughout the country, often together with ASTRON Builders from other areas. Some time ago, while participating in the MACFRUIT fair – Italy’s largest international fair for vegetables and fruit - they met final customer Sesillo BOSCOLO. Mr Boscolo was so taken with the advantages of ASTRON that he decided to modify his construction plans to take advantage of some of ASTRON’s unique possibilities. The most convincing argument for him was the large free span achievable and, as a result, the flexibility of the interior layout. The highly competitive overall price was also an important and decisive aspect.The result is impressive! The building has the largest free span ever built in Italy, 63 m, on a building with a total length of 100 m. The customer, therefore, has at his disposal some 6.300 m² of surface area in which he has complete flexibility concerning the internal layouts of equipment and processes. Many technical details have been turned into architectural features, such as the wind bracing, exterior columns on the outer walls and exposed rafters inside the offices. 120 mm insulation in the walls plus 60 mm sandwich panels on the roof contributes to the excellent working conditions inside the building. The offices also display a large and highly attractive area of windows. Not another record, yet but still an impressing detail; the complete structure has been erected within only 6 weeks. |
