A winner in the country of glaciers and active vulcanoes By using a subtle mixture of horizontal PR and vertical PA ASTRON panels, the architects, Arkþing Ehf, have created an attractive, subdued yet harmonious building that blends perfectly into the wild, almost lunar landscape of Iceland. The building was constructed for Landsafl Ehf, a subsidiary of one of Iceland's biggest contractors. The company wanted a new poultry production unit that would harness the best technology available in the world regarding production methods, efficiency and hygiene. ASTRON Builder Superbyg Island put together a construction package that offered the best combination of speed of construction, price and quality. With the commissioning of its new facility, Landsafl Ehf has been able to optimize its production capacity to 2.500 chickens per hour!
